This book is unique in that it contains reproductions of several famous documents that relate to the Declaration of Independence. The documents are all reproductions of the original primary sources with transcriptions on the back when needed. Some reproductions included are a 1756 map of Philadelphia, the Proclamation of 1763 forbidding settlement west of the Appalachians, Colonial money, Paul Revere’s engraving about the Boston Massacre, documents urging that it was the wrong time for revolution, the pamphlet “Common Sense” by Thomas Paine, the original draft of the Declaration of Independence with Ben Franklin’s edits, and the official Declaration of Independence.
